NO NEWS RECEIVED

CAPTURED BRITISH OFFICERS

(United Press Association —By Electric Telegi aph—Copyright.)

(Received this day at 10 a.m.) PEKING, March 31

No news has been received of the four captive British officers who were captured by Chinese pirates yesterday. AH possible steps are being taken by the land and river police and coastguard service to locate the pirates.

The general belief is that recovery will be less difficult than in the case of Mrs Powley and Corcoran when plentiful vegetation furnished excellent cover. The pirates’ captives are all under thirty, and single, but none speaks Chinese.
