Arising out of Waitara disturbance, Wati Shelford appeared at V ai.tara thife morning before J u_t.ee s, charged with drunkenness and disorderly co.,duct oh tii© main . stieet on .Saturday night. Conv,cable Tfccker said he warned the accused to go heme, but she came hack and his pug.litic conduct had isometliing to do with the latter trouble. The Bench pointed out the offence wa,s very grave under the ex.ating conditioun m Waitara. Accused who pleaded guilty, was fined £5 and warned lutn that a'much heavier penality would be imposed next time. Before Magistrate Tate, in'New Plymouth, Richard Paerau Paltridge was charged with unlawfully damaging a motor, cycle valued ,at £SO, the property of Arthur Trout. In the application of the police he, was remanded to January 18 on bail of £IOO and two of £SO, accused to report daily. Suppression of his name was refused.
