COCKATOO ISLAND
DOCKYARD MAY BE LEASED

SYDNEY, January 4. The Commonwealth Government has
received an offer which is regarded as favourable for the leasing of the Cockatoo Island dockyard at Sydney, upon which the loss to date has been two hundred thousand sterling. Whereas in 1919 there were ,4500 men employee! the number employed to-day is only five hundred. The equipment cost two million sterling.
