MEETING OF THE COUNC.L

The Council of the Westland Acclimatisation Society . , •met'’ton Friday evening when there were present: Dr. E. Teichelmann (president), Messrs A. C. Armstrong, W. ißraddbn, J. King, E. J. Lloyd, Garnet Perry and the secretary. .

Native Bird Protection Society, asking 'Society’s co-oper-ation in an endeavour to have the godwit protected. Received. The Department Intel nal Affairs advised that the Society’s recommendations for the 15>33 ]open season for game would receive consideration. - Received. The Department advised that the deer skin bonus .was being discontinued and that no bonus '"'ill he paid on skins received after December 21, 1932.—Received.

his views. It was decided to bring under the notice of "the members, and other people interested, in the work of the Society, that subscriptions towards the work of acclimatisation wo”ld be an-' precinted by the Council. The matter was le't in the hands of the president and the secretary for their action. After discussion the position of honorary auditor to the Society, it, was decided to appoint Mr A. R. Elcock to'the position. Tt was also decided to 'write to the Greymouth Society inquiring whether they would he requiring any D’y for next hatching season, and if previous arrangements were satisfactory.
