CLOSING DOWN DEFINITE. (Per Press Association — l upyright.) WELLINGTON, December 2. Although there ar e undoubtedly many present who hoped the last word had not been said in regard to the closing down of Wellington teachers’ training college, irem'arks by \the Education Minister at the ceremony at the college to-day made it plain that the Government’s decision was final. Mr Masters emphasised the country’s financial position made it imperative to close the colleges at Wellington and Dunedin. The Minister reiterated the opinion that two colleges were enough and probably, but that there were two islands, on© would be sufficient.
