MAN ASSAULTED IN A HOTEL

AUCKLAND, November 21
George W-hyie, aged 22, was convicted ,at Otnhuhu to-day and fined £5, ill fault one month’s imprisonment for insoalilting a. freezing worker in an hotel.
The police said that the complainant, who was working at Westfield, was in an hotel when the accused entered and abused, him fo r accepting work. The accuse# then picked tae complainant up- by! the collar and' * threw, ■ him--out of the door. .:u h<..
Several police witnesses” repudiated the statements which the police alleged they made previously. Mr Levien, S.M., v said that the complainant had a perfect right to work at Westfield when gcod work was offering. It was a great pity that three young men had gone back on their suite, n eut-s.
