Orders for form aeroplanes, three for. aero clubs, and one for the Defence Department, have been placed by the Government. For' the clubs they are of the de Ravi I and Moth type, similar to those already iii use. The air force machine is a modern Fairey, to be based at Hobsonvide for use in naval co-operation work.

Tiie club machines are for New Plymouth, Marlborough, and Southland;

Making the announcement, the Hon.. J. G. Cobbe expressed regret that the Government could not do more for the el'ubs, but fhSi.nces were very limited, and they were doing their host under the circiun stances.
