MEASURE DROPPED. (Australian Ft 2 , i Association.) SYDNEY, November 19. The State Government has decided to drop the Destitute Persons Maintenance Bill, which wa s introduced recently by the Minister of Education, Mr D. Drummond. The object of the measure was to compel near relatives of destitute persons to provide for their support. FIFTY POISONED AT PICNIC. SYDNEY, November 20. The members of a picnic party, near Liverpool, were effected with .ood poisoning yesterday, fifty adults and children suffering severely. The eaur? is uncertain, but the doctors found that one of tile patients was ill after eating tinned food and corned beef.
