PREPARATIONS TO BE REGISTERED. WELLINGTON, November 15. Better provision for controlling th. sale of. proprietary medicines and pre-pr-ratians lor treatment of disease: affecting stock, by requiring their prim registration, is the main object of . the ’Stock Remedies Bill, which was read a, .second, time in the House to-day aw referred to the Agricultural and Stock Committee. A stock remedy is defined ihy the Bill to mean any substance (including vacc nes, sera and other biological products) manufactured, advertised 01 sold as a remedy for general u.se in the cure or p;e ei-tion of disoape in, stock destruction or prevention of parasite of .stock, or maintenance or improvement of the liealtla or condition oi ■stock. REGISTRATION board. Provision is contained for the establishment of a 'Stock Remedies Registration Board, which will determine the suitability of the remedies f° ! ■registration. The members' will b e ap panted by the Governor-General and will comprise a registrar selected from the veterinary surgeons in the Agfi cultural Department, a member ap 'pointed on, the recommendation of thf New Zealand Veterinary Association and another appointed on the recommendaiion. of tOe pharmacy Board • of New Zealand, Members, other than th* registrar will hold office for three years ■and will be entitled .to, allowances and travelling expenses.
