BOY VICTIM OF CRACKER.

A boy, Stanley .Garcia, aged 11 years; was removed to the hospital ■ badly burned, as the result of the‘ignition of gunpowder by i& cracker. It was stated to-night to be too soon to decide how his injuries are; because of the shock he sustained.

Falling nine feet from an upperstorey window to the roof of a shopverandah below, Miss Veronica McKilHget, a dressmaker, sustained a compound fracture of the leg, and a dislocation of the right ankle early this evening. The position was such that the Fire Brigade were summoned, when, with, the use of ropes and ladders and the aid of brig'adesmen and .passers-by,’the woman was lowered safely to the Toad 1 and r l ?.* removed by the ambulance to the hospital.
