AVIATION
N.Z. TROPHY CONDITIONS. \
(Per Press Association — Copyright.)
WELLINGTON, Nov. 2,
Alternative proposals to those already submitted to the donors of the “New Zealand Herald” trophy, which were put forward by the Hawke’s Bay and East Cape Aero Clubs, were considered by the council of the New Zealand Aero Club. The Hawke’s Bay suggestions were approved, and a sub-committee wars appointed to go into the" technical details. The conditions suggested are that a reliability race be held over a triangular or four-sided course, in covering which the pilots will be required to maintain a certain ground speed. The turning points should be obscured ones, so.that the pilots could not fly to such points by their knowledge of the country, but would have to steer a compass course. It was held that such a race should also include a. test of landing ability. It was decided that the trophy should be competed for alternatively at the North and South Island pageants.
