CHRISTCHURCH. Nov. 2. . At the combined secondary schools sports to-dnv, C. N. Mathews, aged 18 of the Technical School, ran a mile in 4 min 29 2-5 .sees., breaking his own record of 4 min 30 1-5 secs, which is believed to he a- British Empire schoolboys’ record.
E, Malley, of St. Bede’s College ran 880 yards in 2 min 3 1-5 secs. This is a, new record.
