RENO (Nevada)', November 1. This city is the “divorce and gambling capital of the United States," but , it’turned to its gambling houses or illicit liquor dispensaries for banking facilities to-day, as the State officials have declared, a fortnight’s “bank holiday”, to ( allow many institutions that are in w’cak positions to reorganise. Some of these institutions are soliciting funds from the United .’States Reconstruction Finance Corporation. ‘ .J.' The Reno gamtili^g.’houses are generally well supplied' ‘wish silver dollars, and it is believed 'that they will l>e able to carry on a£..],east a part of the necessary city finance's business.
Many of the divorce’ sui>s must be postponed pending' the, ability to secure the necessary money.
