Th? British- steamer, Glenshiel, in charge jof • Captain' 'B. Saiulep has arrived here vith thirty-one Japanese seamen who, were rescued, under the meet hazardous conditions from the. trawler “Shenshan . Maru,” which broke •from .it? moorings during a typhoon . near they Pratas Shoal and drifted-fqr 150 miles.
The Glenshiel observed tlie trawler's distress 'Hares* and hastened to the scene.' They managed; with great difficulty, to, manoeuvre . alongside the .sinking trawler, to which- they dropped ladders and rescued all aboard. Captain Saundem’ line seamanship is greatly ’.praised, as there'was a tremendous sea when:, the rescue was effected.- . t -' / . ■
