POLICE CHARGE

PROTEST MEETING DISPERSED.' (Australian Press Association.) SYDNEY, Oct. 28. Without any preliminary warning, a squad of about fifty police, with batons drawn, charged a crowd of five hundred outside the Glebe Town Hall last night, and in live mmiites, broke up a meeting called as a protest against tho dole quesliomiiro. A number of men wore felled with batons and lists, and five men and two women were arresterl, and three others were sent to the hospital. Before the charge by the police, several constables on duty at the meeting were attacked by the mob, and struck with fists.
