MR BLACK’S DEATH
M.P. FOR MOTTIEKA BODY FOUND ON MAKERA BEACH. (Per Press Association — Copyright.i WELLINGTON, October 18. At miciday yesterday, Mr G. C. C. Black, M.P., for Motueka, hired a taxi and was driven out to the Makera Beach. He dismissed the taxi there, saying that he wouid ring vor one later, on when he wanted to come back. At 7.25 p.m. last night, the police received a message from Mr Norwood, of Makera, that the body of a man was lying on the beach above the high water mark. Detective Hall and Constables Spencer and Pointon went out and found that it was the body of Mr Black. Ike body was brought into the Wellington morgue, and it is stated that it had not been in the water.
An inquest will be held at a date to be fixed.
