WOOL INDUSTRY

MOST CENTRES ARE NOW FIRM. (United Pres*: Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, October 15. Mr Devercaux reports: Although there is an easier tendency, most wool centres are firm. With keen general competition at the London sales and realisation, the accumulation of wool at this centre was übstantially reduced. There is very little business in crossbreds, tops and combings. Machinery is well employed on the fine sorts. There is very little' change in merino yarns. Some sections are busy with crossbred yarns. The sales of tops in Germany were only moderate with slight reduction in prices. The futures market at Antwerp-Roubaix is quiet, the quotations declined by three per cent.
