YOUNG GIRL’S FATAL FALL. (Per Piess Association — Copyright.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Oct. 16. A girl, Nora White, aged 15, was killed through falling from a motor lorry at Pukearuhe on Saturday evening. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs E. White, settlers of the district. FARMER'S SUDDEN DEATH.
GISBORNE, October 16. After entering his car yesterday at a nrivate hotel in Gisborne, to drive into town, a retired sheep-fanner, George William Tiffen, collapsed. He passed away before medical assistance could be procured. The deceased was the son of Frederick John Tiffen, of Hawke’s Bay. He had been a resident of Poverty Bay for many years till his retirement to live in Gisborne. He leaves a widow, three: sons and two daughters. RAILWAY INSPECTOR KILLED. WANGANUI, October 17. F. H. McCann, 58, married, an inspector of permanent ways on the Wanganui railways, was killed this morning as the result of a head efi collision between a goods train and a jigger in which McCann was travelling between Ar.iinoho and Westmoro.
