SEVEN MILLIONS IN PRIZES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 8. In reply to a. question in the House of Commons. Sir H. Samuel (Home Minister) -said that it was estimated that £2,785,C00, which included £757,000 paid to the sellers as commission, had been .v.ibserihed in Britain for the Irish Sweepstake on the English Derby, and £2,000,000 was received iu prizes. In respect of the past six Irish Sweeps, be said, approximately £18,285,000 had Leon subscribed from Britain. This included the seller’ commissions, which were estimated at £2,857,000. The sum of £7.080,000, added the. Minister, has been won in prizes.
