TASMAN FLIGHT

IDENTITY OF THE PILOT. ' WANGANUI, February 27. The announcement' from Auckland that a New Zealand airman intends to fly the Tasman Sea coupled with a brief- description of the man has promoted a rumour among local aviatore that he is Captain Leslie Harold Brake, of Wanganui. It is considered that there is no man in New Zealand at present more capable of carrying out the flight than Captain Brake, who has lmd considerable experience in the Royal Air Force both ip England, on the Continent, and in the Mediterranean, where he was in charge of a base during the war. Captain Brake left Wanganui when “Wizard” Smith first arrived at Ninety Mile Beach and has been in the vicinity of Auckland ever since. He its accompanied by his partner, Mr Gordon Paul, of Wanganui, with whom he rims a commercial aviation company at Wanganui.
