THE NEW DOCK

ITS MOORINGS CHANGED

(By Telegraph— l‘ er l‘re»s Aasocmtion)

WELLINGTON February 19

Wellington’s floating dock was towed thi s morning from its temporary moorings at the Tlmrndon breastworks to its permanent abode near Kaiwarra. Dead calm prevailed, the harbour being enveloped in fog, and hardly a ripple disturbing the placid waters ol the port.

New, heavy moorings have been provided to replace those which, some weeks ago on the arrival "of the dock, proved unequal to the task of holding jt, and no difficulty should he experienced in connecting up the dock to its wharf with big steel booms, which are to hold it. The services of the floating crane, at Hikitea are available for the handling of the booms, which work is in progress.
