BUSH FIRES

MANY SHEEP BURNT

SYDNEY, February 18

It is estimated that five thousand sheep were burnt to death in hush fires on station properties near Goondiwindi. Fire fighters were trying to keep the flames back from the sheep in one place when a second fire overcame them from the rear, Stiles oi fencing were destroyed and about fifteen thousand acres of grass country was burnt.
