GLIDING ACCIDENT
WING BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR. WELLINGTON, January 24. The “Wellington Gliding Club’s new machine, imported from Australia a few weeks ago, crashed to-day, crumpling one wing beyond repair. The glider was being towed hv a motorcycle, a member clinging to either wing, as there was a tyro in the cockpit. It rose about eight feet. One man let go his wing, but the other kept hold, and, despite the efforts ot the pilot, the machine crashed on one wing and turned over.
