N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. INTERMEDIATE RESULTS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 24. The New Zealand swimming championships concluded at Lower Hutt on Saturday evening. Auckland won the War Memorial Shield with points. Otago gained 5 points, Canterbury 2, Manawatu one and Wanganui half a point. The results were: — 100 yards Intermediate Boys Championship.—N. Crump (Auckland) 1, W. J. Jarvis (Otago) 2, R. Geddis (Otago) 3. Time 60 2-5 secs. 50 yards Junior Girls’ Championship, —First heat: Miss R. Low (Canter,-"' bury) 1, Miss W. Newall (Otago) 2, Time 33 secs. Second heat: Miss E. Rainey (Auckland) 1, Miss Walls (Westport, West Coast) 2. Time 33 secs. Final.—Miss Rainey 1, Miss Low 2, Miss Newell 3. Time 32 4-5 secs. 100 yards Junior Boys’ Free Style Championship.—First heat: S. Jarvis (Otago) 1, M. Hopping (Wellington) 2. Time 1 min 12 secs. Second heat: 3. Barry (Otago) 1, Pascoe /Auckland) 2. Time 1 min. 15 secs. Final: Jarvis 1, Hopping 2, Barry 8. Time 1 min 13 2-5 sees.

N.S.W. CHAMPIONSHIPS. NEW RECORDS ESTABLISHED. SYDNEY, January 24. The New South Wales swimming championships were continued at the Domain baths at Sydney yesterday. Results:—' 440 Yards Championship.—A. Charlton 1, N. Ryan 2, V. Besono' 3. Time 4 mins 5o 2-4 secs. Tin's is a State and an Australian record Ryan made a wonderful effort and was only beaten by Charlton by two feet. 100 Yards Championship.—C. Phillips 1, A. Hill 2, H. Hall 3. Time 56 4-5 secs. This is a State and Australian record. •*v» Springboard Diving Championship.— A, Cohiior 1, C. Barrass 2, H, Tickle 3.
