HOUSE BURNED. % INCENDIARISM SUSPECTED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) GREYMOUTH, January 25. A modern five-roomed house, together with its contents, at Aratika, was destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The house was owned by the Aratik i Sawmilling Company } and the tenant was L. Levert, who was absent at the time. Incendiarism is suspected, and the police are making inquiries. The insurance on the house was in the South British Office at Christchurch, but the amount is unknown here. The insurance on the furniture is £l5O in the British Traders’ Office. SHOP GUTTED AT GISBORNE. GISBORNE, January 24. Fire gutted the premises of Mrs C. Randle, destroying an extensive stock of wallpapers, etc. Airs Randle had a narrow escape.
