The summer meeting of the Wellington Racing dub concluded to-day in fine weather, but a high northerly wind made matters unpleasant. The tote handled £32,291, against £41,080 for the third day last year, the total for the meeting being £103,193 compared with £129,194. Results;—
Isdburn Handicap.—l Retract 1, 12 Fog Horn 2, 10 Flower 3. Won by a length ; thr.e-quarters of a length. Time lmin 381 secs.
Hopeiul Stakes.—7 Gaine Carrington 1, 1 'Silver Ring 2, 6 Copper King 3. Won by a length ; a neck. Time 1.0,V.
Wallaceville High weight Handicap.— •3 Babel 1, 4 Counter March 2, 6 Royal Limond 3. Won by a head; two lengths. Time 1.40 1-5.
Melrose Handicap.—4 Trek 1, 12 St. (Roger 2, 7 Niggerhead 3. Won by a neck ; a head. Time 1.27 1-5, 'Summer Handicap.—6 Black Duke 1, 8 Joie de Vail 2, 4 N-ea Lap 3. Won by half a length; a length. Time 2.5*.

TIMARU, January 23
The Timaru Trotting ’Club's' summer meeting was held to-day in fine weather. The track was fast, but a high nor-wester had a tendency to slow up the times. The attendance was up to the average. The tote handled £9284, compared with £10,720 last year. An inquiry was held into tile running of Black Lion, winner of the Pareora Handicap, the stipendiary steward alleging inconsistent running of the horse in. its previous performance in the Presidents ’Handicap. The judicial committee decided to accept O. E. Hooper’s explanation, and no action was taken. Results: — i
