COLLISION AT WELLINGTON. MOTOR CYCLE AND TRAM CAR. * (by Ttlcyraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, .January 22, Three people are in the Wellington Hospital as ithe result of a collision between a motor cycle and a sidecar and a tram at the Glenmore Street viaduct shortly after five o’clock this afternoon. Those injured are; j Daniel Hill, of 35 Plunket Street, " Katori, aged 35 years. Stanley Watson, of 35 Plunket Street, Karori, aged 24 years. ' Jack O’Keefe, of 30 Devon Street, aged 20 years. The men injured were on the motor cycle, which was travelling up Glenmore Street, while the tram-car was coming down at the viaduct, where reformation work is l|eing carried out, making the road a very narrow one. The two vehicles met in a headon collision. The tram, jt is said, was slowing up at the time of the impact. All the 'Occupants of the cycle were thrown from their mount, and suffered head injuries. Hill, when flying from the cycle struck the glass on the front of the tram, and passed through it to the platform, on which the motorman was stationed. Late . this evening' Hill’s condition was ■ \ serious, 'but the others were progressing satisfactorily.
