RETAIL PRICES. NEW ZEALAND MEAT IN LONDON. The New Zealand Meat Producers Board has been advised by its London manager, there the following retail prices are being quoted for New Zealand lamb and mutton retailed in London on Ist January, 1932: New Zealand Lamb. —Legs .lid per lb; shoulders lOd ; loins 9d ; necks 4d ; breasts 3d ; forequarters 8d ; hindquarters 10id, New Zealand Mutton (wether): — Legs 7^d; shoulders 6id j loins bsd; necks 3d; breasts 2d, ADDINGTON STOCK SALE, CHRISTCHURCH, January 6. There was no great change in prices of live stock at Addington i:o-day. There was sufficient beef forward for requirements. ' A small percentage of prime quality was penned. Most of the lots were showing signs of the dry season and were slipping back, these being hard to quit. Choice lots met with keen competition at values slightly in .advance of the recent rates. Best heavy sold to £l4 12s 6d, prime handyweights £9 17s 6d to £lO Vs 6:1, medium £7 5s to ££B 15s, light from £6 os. Best heifers- sold to £9. !.7s 6d, prime £7 5s to £8 15s, medium £5 12s 6d to £6 £.>; b'st heavy cows to £9 2s 60, prime £5 15s; to £6 17s 6d, medium £4 5s to £4 15s, plain from £3. There was a good yarding of tat sheep. Cood young handyweight sheep were" in good demand. Heavier grades were on a lower basis than at last sale. Best heavy wethers sold up to v(Js ICi, prime 17s to 18s 6d, medium H'ss 'to 16s 6d, light from 12s. Best heavy ewes sold up to 14s 7d, prime 12s to 15s, medium 10s 6d to 12s, light %v from 9s, inferior 7s. j There iwas a ful'l yardSng of fat- . lambs. Competition, was keen at values slightly in advance of the .schedule ra t s. the butchers acquiring all the heavy weights. Extra heavy prime lambs sold to 21s 7d, prime 16s 6d to 18s 6d, medium 14s to 16s, light 12s to 15s. inferior from 9s. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs. The market opened firm, easing as further consignments arrived by road. Porkers sold from 27s to 30s, choppers 60s to £4 16s, baconers 36s to 40s, heavier to £2 5s od, heavy porkers 31s to 35s 6d. There was a better demand for store pigs owing to a smaller yarding.
