WALES V. SPRINGBOKS. VISITORS TOO GOOD (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, December 5. The Rugby football match Springboks v. "Wales was played at Swansea before forty thousand spectators. The South Africans beat Wales by 8 point® to 3. 'The. game was played in a downpour of rnin which lasted throughout the mjateh, turning the ground into a mud lifiap. The South Africans were behind at half time, the Welshmen leading by three points to nil. Then the Springboxs exerted tremendous pressure on tiie home side and scored eight points.

Bassett and Morley who participated in the tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1930 were included in the Welsh team, which despite rain ana mud was omtplayed by Springboks. Wales led at half time by 3 to nil, after which the Africans beat the Welshmen at their own spoiling tactics. Morley failed to complete a fine solid run, which should have ended in a try. Bassett was the llero of the game. He px’evented the Springboks getting a fax- higher score.
