BLOW-OUT OF OIL
ACTIVITY IN BLENHEIM BORE. NEW PLYMOUTH, July 11. Oil blew over the top of the derrick at the Blenheim bore, New Plymouth, about 3 pan. yesterday and then selfflowed for about half an hour. There were two other similar manifestations later in the afternoon, and-, last night the gas could be heard in the casinghead, where pressure was being maintained.
The latest productions from the bore were obtained by swabbing. Since June 1, swabbing, had been suspended during operations designed to test a pump. It was found necessary, however, to replace the tubes through which the pumping is done, before this method can be effective. Pending their arrival swabbing was resumed on Thursday and a pressure of 3001 b. was obtained. Swabbing was continued yesterday, with the result that the accumulation of water was removed;, and the pressure. ,4',n.ised to 370!b. before the first blow-out ..occurred. Now that the water has been removed, the well, it is stated, has been brought back to its old state of activity.
