A bill authorising the txport of live million pounds worth of gold to meet the Commonwealth's Treasury bills due on June 30-th at London, was passed by the House of Representatives dayThe Treasurer, 'Mr <E. G. Theodore, said that there was no alternative to exploiting the gold, but that of default. The Opposition assented to the measure. The Bill reduces the statutory reserve of gold from the uniform one of 25 per cent, to 15 per cent. GOLD .SHIPMENTS. SYDNEY, June 17.
