EVFRYBDDYS PICTURES. “THE SEA BAT.’’ When Metro-G ol dwy n-M ayer selected the little seaport, Mazatlan, on the southern coast of Mexico,' as location for its new marine melodrama, “The Sea Bat,’’ which is scheduled to open to-night at the Princess Theatre, jt was not only because of the fact that this is an ideal place from which to get shots of the unique sea monster rrom which the picture gets its title and which plays an important part in the unusual story.
For when movie-goers view “The Sea Bat’’ they will he treated to far more than an exciting narrative of an exconvict who comes to a tropic island in the disguise of a clergyman and is subsequently involved in a series of surprising incidents including undersea adventures and a half-mad attempt at escape in a frail sailing craft. The picture is fully as worth-while as an educational sight-seeing trip as it is a medium of entertainment. Bickford is featured in the ocean melodrama together with Raquel Torres, Nils Asther in his first all-talking role and George F. Marion. Others in the cast are John Miljan, Boris Karloff, Gibson Gowland. Edmund Breese, Mathilde Comont and Mack Swain.
