A 1 Capone, his power apparently crushed by United States Government, stood in the Federal Court to day and pleaded guilty to charges of defrauding the nation of almost two hundred thousand dollars income tax, and conspiracy in a two hundred million dollar beer conspiracy. The plea, marked the climax oz cue Government's efforts to stamp out syndicate crime rule in the country’s second largest city, where municipal and State Governments seemed helpless. Capone was told that his sentence would be deferred until 30th., June. The maximum penalty can be thirty, four years prison and ninety thousand dollars fine, but it reported than Capone’s term would be two and a-balf years in gaol and a fine of probably ten thousand dollars.
