The Roichsbaiik has raised iln> discount rate ■ rum five to seven per cent,, owing to the demand for foreign currency, due to sea rctnoiigering. amounting yesterday to ten millions sterling. The interest rate was advanced from six to eight nei- cent. Meanwhile the (light of capital is increasing. it is estimated since Ist June, twenty-live million sterling was withdrawn from Germany. Luther, the lleiehsbank President, has appealed to other hanks to check the Hight. He points out that 525 millions of foreign investments have alreudv left the country.
