INQUEST ON WOMAN
N 0 EVIDENCE AS TO CAUSE OF DEATH. AUCKLAND, June 12. “I think every possible inquiry bus been made, but there is not sufficient evidence to show what the cause ol death was,” said Air Hunt, S.M., Coroner, at the adjourned inquest concerning the death of Mary Lillian Evett Maude, aged fifty-three, whose body wa s found in thick scrub, on the cliff over Long Bay on A lay 17. Evidence was given that when deceased left her home in Alount Eden on August 23, 1930, there wa s nothing unusual in her manner. She had been in poor health for two years preceding her disappearance, and at times she had complained of palpitation of the heart and shortage of breath. She was in comfortable financial circumstances. She knew the locality where the body was found, as she had stayed at a relative’s summer residence in the Brown’s Bay district. Two doctors said that when found, thp body had been exposed to the weather for some months. A post-mor-tem examination did not reveal any signs of violence, and the witnesses were unable to form an opinion as to the cause of death.
