HOKITIKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
/ WEDNESDAY, MAY 13. A special meeting of the Council ■was held at noon. Present: —Messrs G. A, Perry (Mayor), D. J. Evans, E. AV. Heenan, D. Stuart, T. IV. Duff, J. King, A. R, Elcock. His Worship the Mayor moved:— ‘‘That by resolution passed on the 11th. July, 1930, the Hokitixa Borough Council resolved to add, und er the authority of Section 76 of the Rating Act, 1925, an additional charge of ten per centum (10%) to all rates struck and levied for the year ending the 31st. March, 1931, which were not paid on or before the 4th, dny of i'eo ruary, 1931. Now under the authority of Section 42 of the Finance Act, (No, 2), 1931, No. 6, the Hokitika Borough Council hereby resolves that the payment of the additional charge of ten per centum, which lias been made and levied for the financial year ending 31st. March, 1931, he postponed until the first day of July, 1931, and that a refund.be granted to any person of any amount already paid by that person by way of such additional charge of ten per centum.” Mr Duff seconded.—Carried. Several matters of administration were discussed in committee, and tlm meeting concluded.
