A petition, hearing .500 names, has been presented to Sir .James Parr, urging him, in tlie interests of the Reform Party, to contest the Auckland Suburbs seat a) the next general election. His reply is to he given in a week. Sir James Parr said that lie narl not anticipated this request. PRICE OF NEWSPRINT. WELLINGTON, May 2. It was reported in tin l newspapers recently that Messrs Price Brothers and Coy., Ltd., had made an announcement from their New York office to the effect that the price of newsprint, would lie reduced by five dollars per ton from M'Uy 1. 1931.
