LONDON ATTRACTIONS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 30. Although the Grand Opera season began on Monday night, and throughout the week has been attracting fashionable audiences to Coveut Garden, an event ivbich .is generally regarded as the opening of the-London social season, takes place to-morrow, when ,a private view of the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition takes place at Burlington -House.’. .V ; •' In spite of the industrial depression all the indications point to a brilliant round of social events during the season, of which the o.uts.tanding functions in May are first the two Courts to be held by their Majesties, at Buckingham Palace on May 19th and 20th; the Chelsea Flower Show and the Royal Military Tournament, which will, ■ as usual also be held during the. coming month. Tlie principal outdoor events ,of, the season, hoewver, take place in June, including among many others:— The Derby and Ascot, Daces. ' Trooping tho Colours and the Military Tattoo. International Horse Show at Wimbledon. The Lawn Tennis Championships, Royal Air Force Pageant. The Test match between. England and the New Zealand crick t team.
