RADIO PROGRAMME

SATURDAY, MARCH 28th

A miscellaneous programme of much variety will l)e broadcast from 11'A this evening. Contributing, will be Barry Ingall’s Hawaiian Quartet, to l>e heard in some popular melodies. Two popular entertainers, Ernest and Wendy, will provide “merry moments at the piano.” Miss Irma Kitchin (soprano) and Mr Stan Frit chard (baritone) will sing. A medley of Irish airs and a medley of fox trots will b® played by Mr W. Brennon an exponent of the mouth organ, and Mr Erie Bell will contribute pianoforte solos.

At 2VA Mr Will Bishop will produce the second of his second Sl-iLs of “Eight o’clock Revues,” or “Grownup Children’s Hours.” Assisting Mr Bishop will be the Etude Quartet (Miss Grettu Stark, Mrs Kay Kemp and Mr Ray Kemp and Mr W. Hancock) and Miss Elsie Croft. There will be a light programme by the Salon Orchestra.

3YA has a typical week-end programme and this will also be broadcast by 4YA. The Joyous Pair wil. sing cabaret songs at the piano. Some of the latest airs, including “Wan ganui Moon,” by a N.Z. composer, will be played by Miss Elaine Moody’s Hawaiian Quartet, with vocal refrains by Miss Moody. Mr Reg. Lamb with humorous songs and patter. Bass solos will be sung by Mr Ponder. Miss Irene Morris and Mr R. Ohlsen will contribute violin and cornet solos respectively. The Studio Trio will la? contributing to the instrumental portion of the programme.

MONDAY, MARCH 30m. Signor Lueieu Cesuroui .and his company, in association with the will provide 2YA’s concert programme this evening. Signor Cesaroni will sing to orchestral acI companiment, “Allah,” “The Palms,” I Handel’s “Largo” and tho “The I Floral Dance.” In company with j Miss E. Sfanden he will take part in two duetts. Miss Standen will la.heard in two soprano solos, and a mezzo-soprano solo will he contributed by Miss Ailsa Dillon. Miss Avn Symons (violinist) will play Didla’s ' “Serenade” and Bruch’s “Concerto,” both to orchestral, accompaniment, j 3YA vocal artists will assist the New Brighton Municipal Band in the presentation of the concert from the Christchurch station. The band will present a good lively programme. Mrs K. Henderson (mezzo-soprano). Mists Kathleen Bond (contralto) and Mr Percy Caithness (baritone) wil' provide some well diversified solo items. Mr Bracey Wilson, who i* noted for his Scottish humour,, "'ill entertain with Lauder and Fyfß items. The Dunedin Orchestral Society’s first concert of the 1931 season, to be given in His Majesty’s Theatre, will be relayed by 4YA. The Society performs under, the able conductor-ship of Mr Alfred Walmslev and an excellent, programme will be presented. The vocal soloists will be l Miss Muriel t Eager (soprano), Miss Gwenda Burt I (’contralto) and Mr .T. E. Davies I (tenor). ? Silent day at IYA. ;
