The recent decision of the Auckland University Co liege Council to dispense with the services of Professor Coioai, as principal of the School of Forestry, following om the establishment of the Dominion School at Canterbury College, was the subject of a discussion at a meeting of the Professional Board vesterdav,
The folloiug resolution was passed: “That this board emphatically condemns the failure of the Board of Governors of Canterbury College to honour the implied agreement to amalgamate the two. forestry schools.” A second resolution was passed as follows“ That this hoard places on record its high appreciation of Professor Corbin’s academic qualifications and professional standing, and of the qualities he has exhibited as a teacher and colleague, The board also places on record the conviction that it will be a severe loss to forestry education in New Zealand should lie not be transfered to Canterbuy College with the Auckland School of Forestry.”
