FOR MURDER OF CURTIS. APPEALS R EJECTED. CONGRESS UNREST. [United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright]. (Received 10.5 a.m.) DELHI, March 23. Lahore High Court rejected the appeal of Bhagat Singh and Rijguru anti Suklidev, against the sentence of death in connection with the murder of Curtis, a police officer, at Lahore last year, and the men are likely to be executed to-morrow morning. The failure of the efforts to obtain a [ commutation of the sentence, created a tense feeling in Congress circles ■throughout India, and Bombay Provincial Congress Committee passed a resolution urging the. forthcoming Congress session at Karachi to restart civil disobedience, if the men were executed. Gandhi asked that all Congress demonstrations at Karachi, cease if the men are executed, and there is a ]xissibility that the session will be abandoned. There was considerable unrest at Lahore in the afternoon, when the appeals were rejected. All shops were closed as a protest.
