As a result of the high flood yesterday some general damage was done to the district- roads through scour. All the rivers were very high. The two southern piers of -the disused Mikonui river suspension bridge were carried away. It is reported also that the Little .Wanganui river caused further erosion below the protection works abutting Mr Minehan’s Rectum, where the position is said to be serious ra-thei affecting some of the- best pastoral land in the district.-
~ His Honor Air Justice Kennedy has given his reserved decision in the case of Francis Frederick Boustridge v. Ivy Olive Pearl Boustridge. which was heard at the last sitting of the Supreme Court at Greymouth. Petitioner applied for the custody and control of a child and for an order, rescinding, suspending or varying a deed providing for the maintenance of his divorced wife and child. His Honor refused to make an order to disturb the existing custody of the child. No order was made with reference to the maintenance deed, respondent being awarded £lO 10s costs and all necessary disbursements.
