RADIO PROGRAMME

The IYA concert programme the evening will feature a lmif-hour rocitai by Mr Ralph Eskrigge (tenor) an cm" l ' out New Zealand artist who has just returned firm his .-accesses in Sydney. Me has a vers extensive repertoire. The Orchestral Octet will also present a cho'ce programme. Mr A. B. Chapped w'l! give he. weekly topical talk rho 2YA Stnd'o concert will be of tiie popular type. Miss C'icely \udibert will appear again giving her sec oucl reeitnl. Mr Ernest Short (bontone) will sing and Mr and Mrs Ransom Myers will be heard in humorous duets. The Salon Orchestra will play a number of selections. Novelty instrumental items will be played bv Mrs Mildred Kenny’s mandolin orchestra, and suitable records will intersperse the programme. The Dunedin Tramways Band, under the direction of Mr (.'lias. Morgan, will broadcast from 4YA, not one item of which has yet been performed before the New Zealand public. Of special interest will be a novelty item entitled “ r airy take Parade,” by the well known Dunedin composer, Mr Sharpe. 1 lienwill be a cornet duet by two members of the band. The vocalists will lMiss Myra Stokes (contralto,) Mr ,J. R. Hamilton (’tenor) and Mr R. Bryant (baritone), one of whose songs will be Cook’s “King Solomon and King vid.” Silent day at 3YA.

*!*ne Auckland Artillery Band, under Air Wynne Smith, will give a concert at IYA this evening. Bandsman 0. M. Bye will contribute a cornet solo, Bandsman E. Smyth a baritone solo, and Bandsman S. Fullerton a basstromborie solo. On the- vocal side, the artists will be Airs Arthur Osborne (soprano) Miss Winifred Johnson (contralto) and Dir Jan H. Burry (tenor). 2YA will broadcast the next ol the series of overseas programmes. Dr Guy H. Scholefield, 0.8.1 C will give a on ‘‘.Alatlaeis ol international interest.”
A. vocal recital by Mr Harold Prescott, tenor, will lonn part of 3YA’s Wednesday evening programme. There will be orchestral accompaniments to his lour songs. Listeners "ill also welcome Mr Rudie Peterson, well known in theatrical circles. He will contribute a humorous song and two old favourites. Also on the programme will Ik* Miss Gladys Brooks (soprano) Miss Beatrice Claridge (piamste), Mr R. iOhlsen (cornetist) and the Studio Octet under Mr Harold Beck. 4YA’s concert programme this evening is to bp provided by the choir ol the Trinity Methodist Church, under thp couductorship of Mr James Simpson. This choir is one of the best balanced combinations in Dunedin and h specially fortunate in possessing several fine soloists.
