“If you smoke here you will smoke hereafter!.” Such is the rather startling title off a leaflet distributed broadcast by a London Anti-Tobacco Association. This should.be interesing to devotees of the weed. There is a lot of nonsense written and unttered about tobacco. Smoking is no crime! And if it makes existence more enjoyable for most of vis (as it assuredly does), why should we not indulge? The “one thing needful” is that the tobacco should he pure. Imported brands seldom are. How can they be tseeing that most of ’them are poisonous with nicotine? Cases innumerable there are of heart or nerve trouble due to excess of poison in the leafi. Nicotine can be largely eliminated, however, by roasting the tobacco. This process renders it perfectly innocuous It also gives it its famous bouquet and incomparable flavour. There are only four brands of toasted on the market—Riverhead Gold. Cavendish, Navy Cut No. 3, and Cut Plug No. 10. Of.course there are imitations! Did you ever know a good tiling tliat wasn’t imitated ?—Advt.
