FLOOD DISASTER

MEXICO CITY DESTROYED. (United Prßoe Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright). NEW YORK October 23. News from Tampico, in Mexico, states that the City of Alamo, in the State of Vera Cruz, has been destroyed by floods m the River Pontepee. Many casualties are reported, but tlie number is not determined. Thousands of head of cattle have been drowned. The corn crop of the district has been destroyed. In the streets of Alamo the water rose to a level of ten feet. Tine floods are the result of heavy storms, during the last twelve days.
