POSITION OF UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS.'
WELLINGTON, September 25,
Although a deputation from the University Colleges waited last month on the Prime Minister and the Minister for Education on. the question of super animation provision for professors, no immediate outcome can be expected. This was indicated in a letter from tne Hon H. Atmore, Minister for Education received at to-night’s meeting of the Victoria College Council,
‘ ‘A report on the subject hod been prepared and had been submitted to the Teachers’ Superannuation Board, said the Minister, It had been considered, too, by the Government, and the position was regarded as unsatisfactory. In view, however of the present need for a- comprehensive review of all the Superannuation schemes of the Government and the fact that a special committee had , been set up recently by the Govebh.nierit to investigate the position of these funds, he had to say that nothing could be done immediately.
