At the same time the show association committee wished to convey a respectful request to local licensing bodies that the dog registration tax on Alsatian dogs be raised to £2 2s per annum. The chairman reported that he had gone into this matter and he had found that according to tint Act it was not permissible to raise the tax more than 10s. If the tax were to he raised the- parties concerned would have to take the matter to Parliament. A councillor: These Alsatians are vicious dogs. : , The chairman: Yes. The trouble is that they should not have been admitted' into the country 'in the first place. Now* they are here we liave just to abide by it. It was decided to advise the A. and P. Association of the provisions of the Act.
