From the Municipal Association, intmatrig that Government propose a - reduction of allocation to Local Bodies -of -petrol tax,, and asking. From Sanitary Inspector, Greymouth requesting, that notices be served on ’Mvo householders to carry out ncces(fary sanitary repairs.—Received. -pFrom Chairman, No. 12 District 'Hallways Council, Greymouth, intimating that the cash allocation for this -.District’s expenditure and maintenance hfi?l been considerably reduced, and jjreater economy must be exercised in regard- .to maintenance expenditure, ’ and stressing the point that the Amounts voted are not to be exceeded without the prior approval of the Highways Board.—Received.

Secretary, Returned Soldiers’ Association’, Hokitika, acknowledging Council’s letter of the 28th. ultimo respecting the consumption of liquor at the Soldiers’ Hall, and intimating that the Committee have embodied the following resolution in its ~yules,, and. it. will do . its utmost to Vive effect to the Rule:—

“Rule 34. No alcoholic liquor shall be brought upon or consumed or served on any of the premises of; the Association, without the Sleave of the Committee being first i-i-had’ and obtained.” —Received.’
