In picking the English team for the fifth Test' match, against • Australia, the selectors are likely to pass over both Nichols and Goddard, though the latter still has many supporters. Hendren is likely to reappear in the English team for this Test. His inclusion will allow Chapman to go in Number Seven. Then, also England would have four outfields, Leyland, Smtcliffe, Duleepsinhji and Hendren. It is possible that both Jupp and Langridge will be included. The latter is easily England’s best left arm all rounder. The English thirteen would thus he : —Chapman, Duleepsinhji, Jupp Peebless, Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Duckworth, Hammond, Hendren, Leyland, Tate, Larwood and Langridge.
