INQUEST INTO RAILWAYMAN’S

DEATH

TIMARU. July 10.

An inquest was held this afternoon on William Stephen, a railway surfaceman, who wa9 killed as a result of being struck by a motor truck on the Main South Road at St,. Andrews, on June 22. The following verdict was returned by the Coroner, Mr C, R. Orr Walker. “That Stephen died on June 22 at St. Andrews ot a fracture of the base of the skull as a result of being struck by a motor van driven by Henry Saunders, while Stephen was proceeding on the lett. side of the road driving his cows.’’
